Faria Will Focus on Resource Management and Interoffice Collaboration Across the Firm’s East Coast Projects

BOSTON — January 22, 2025 — JCJ Architecture (JCJ), a forward-thinking and nationally ranked planning, architecture, and interior design firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Faria, AIA, LEED AP, to the role of Eastern Managing Director. With over 34 years of design firm operational expertise, Mary will work across regions and markets to provide support on existing contracts, maintain critical path schedules, and strategically leverage JCJ’s employee-owners capabilities. As a leader with significant hands-on operations and management experience, Mary is an individual whose deeply rooted values keep her striving for the collective success of our clients, our projects, and our people.

In her new role, Mary will be responsible for resource planning and allocation across the region, ensuring alignment with JCJ’s standards for project delivery and excellence. She will serve as the primary liaison between operations, project management, and other functional department heads to optimize performance and promote consistent processes. Working closely with the Western Managing Director, Mary will play a pivotal role in driving JCJ’s vision and mission further.

“Mary’s deep industry knowledge, operational expertise, and leadership have already made a significant impact at JCJ,” said Scott Celella, Chief Operating Officer of JCJ Architecture. “In addition to her pragmatic sensibility and broad understanding of practice, she brings a personal approach to addressing the day-to-day challenges we face. Her commitment to mentorship, resource management, and client success aligns perfectly with our values, and we look forward to the positive contributions she will continue to make throughout our East Coast functions.”

Mary joined JCJ in 2023 through the firm’s acquisition of Group One Partners, where she served as Co-Owner and Principal for over three decades. At Group One, Mary oversaw design, architecture, accounting, finance, administration, and human resources. Her leadership was instrumental to Group One’s reputation for excellence in hospitality design and their best-in-class delivery of seamlessly integrated architecture, interior design, and procurement services within the firm.

Since joining JCJ, Mary has continued to oversee key hospitality projects in Boston as Principal in Charge, leveraging her management acumen and mentorship to guide the Boston design teams. As Eastern Managing Director, Mary will extend her leadership throughout JCJ’s regional studios, aligning resources, fostering interoffice collaboration, and driving business objectives to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

“I’m honored to step into this expanded role and am excited to collaborate across our teams,” said Mary. “I remain committed to a personal, hands-on approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities that come with our work, fostering both operational excellence and a positive, growth-oriented culture.”
